America needs a “BBC” (although the BBC has been stripped of funding, along with anything related to the Humanities. That discipline which at least half of America deems unworthy of funding: the Humanities, it’s what makes us human. Assuming our the wisest segment of our population is still alive after Congress strips Medicare and seniors head to Canadian border again in bus loads to buy their medicine. 

Q: Members have honed in on Medicare as the thing to cut. I would like to see the long list of items on the budget that they are NOT willing to cut (including that other budget that gets counted separate from the actual budget). How much does the government pay subcontractors each year?

Q: How much is it going to cost to cope with the cross-country health care crisis that occurs when seniors can’t go to the doctor when Medicare gets cut? 

Q: How long are health care workers going to work arduous, demanding jobs for minimum wage (e.g., EMTS—the people you call when you dial 911 because you life is in danger and you need help fast)? If you are calling someone to save your life, don’t you want the person to arrive to be paid more than the poverty line their salaries flirt with. What happened to the America founded 200 years ago? Our ancestors worked hard and looked out for each other. Today we possess the mistaken conception that we are each one of us is the most important person in the world. We have lost our dedication to communities that support one another.
